- The University has a comprehensive plan in place to store and distribute the vaccine for free in coordination with DHEC. They’re just waiting on the green light.
The president was off a bit in regards to the positivity rate among antibody tests. The average is actually around 54%, not 57%, but that average changes from week to week.
The spokesman I talked with emphasized that vaccine rollout has been slower than expected EVERYWHERE, and it’s impossible to gauge when students will receive the vaccine. April-May is very optimistic. Sorry, folks.
One more thing about antibody tests: It’s important to note that this is a self-selecting sample — it only reflects those who actively seek out getting tested. The real number could be higher or lower, but 54% is likely a very rough estimate.
