Strong portrait of Peter Calmus. Knowing about the catastrophe ahead isn’t easy. Solidarity

What woke Peter up was a lecture about Earth’s energy imbalance. Here it is, if you want the same: handle with care, this shit is pretty metal. Once you understand this, most other climate talk won’t make much sense anymore

Fun twist, so Peter blocked a bunch of us on Twitter for supposedly being “too negative”. This gives me hope. He evidently was going up & down in cycles, struggling with it all, testing ways to reach out & build his community. Hope he finds his peace with the world & his role

Great point: I sympathize with Peter & to be Frank am probably as strange in my ways. What I’m missing about his type of science-activism tho is humor. No end of the world without a bit of comic relief, else it’s truly too unbearable. Thoroughly watchworthy: https://twitter.com/dvoryane/status/1354102317692411904
Fantastic thread. Especially the q of how Harvard graduates entire years of physics undergrads without teaching them Earth’s energy imbalance (and let’s face it, politics : sociology). Not surprised, fwiw same happens at even graduate level! https://twitter.com/cityatlas/status/1354279985943638016
