The big story in German news, that the Oxford vaccine is basically shit if you’re over 65, is causing a stir.

What it appears to actually be about is concerns over a rushed trial with insufficient data for responsible governments to plunge balls deep into potential folly.
It’s basically about the difference between saddling up the unicorn cavalry and taking some really fucking sensible pauses for thought.

Britain can rage as much as it wants but so far it has fucked everything up, pandemic-wise.

Being cautious is a positive thing.
The real part of the story is that they aren’t convinced by the available data to date, so are looking at using the different vaccines in different age groups, supported by the data.

It’s nothing to rage about. It’s just what being sensible looks like.

Something we’ve killed.
But I’m sure what’ll happen is a shit load of willy-waving and some violent jingoism instead of everyone calming the fuck down.
Anyway, I have a headache and don’t feel very well but I’ve skimmed through a fuckton of Lancet bits and found what appears to be a logical explanation for the German concerns.

Everyone else can argue like fuck, I’m going to sleep because this shit isn’t my problem.
What it genuinely looks like is that the trial recruited older people later and there’s subsequent contention with the trial data which has prompted concerns about which vaccine to use for who.

Headache and all, I still don’t think caution is a bad thing.

Night.
