This is the monster thread I was talking about... strap in. If you want to unfollow me cause you disagree then please go ahead. I'm speaking from my view here alone. It's fresh so it will have emotion in which I do not apologise for. Here goes...
1/19
I want to start by thanking Frank Lampard for everything he gave to this club. When I say everything I mean he gave everything, you could see it in his whole demeanour when we lost & towards the end of his premature sacking. He took that job when nobody else wanted it.
2/19
It wasn't an easy job by any stretch, nobody wanted it, following the loss of our best player in years, a transfer ban & a global pandemic. He didn't take the job cause of his ego he took it because he loves the club & wanted one more chance of glory with the club he loves
3/19
Frank actually never made the job about him & I could be sentimental all night about him but I won't. I will simply say this. If the reports are true that Frank knew his number was up following Leicester. He ended with class by thanking all the players even the snakes.
4/19
Not only that but he could have chucked it in against Luton, but he didn't. He pretended it was all okay knowing the vultures were circling. Frank ALWAYS put the club before himself. The fact of the matter is I'd have 100 Frank's over the many mercenary managers we've had.
5/19
The ultimate feeling I have been left with this evening is sadness. We signed up to a project yet the board cancel the project half way through. This project could have united fans but now I feel we will forever be divided. They have created this monster, it cannot he undone
6/19
People talk like Frank should go away & do better with another club then have some fairytale & come back... As a Chelsea fan I'd hire him in an instant BUT as a human I'd tell him to look after his wife & children, be successful but tell the board where to go.
7/19
We've had many managers who I had affection for but none quite like our club legend. He will always be that for me. I believe he was a success for an inexperienced manager with all the factors I've already mentioned still achieving top 4, cup final & integrating youth.
8/19
I thank Frank for everything he did for us. Club legend. đź’™
Now onto everything else...
Rumour has it Tuchel is getting a 4 year deal? Whats the point he will be lucky to get 2 years like every other manager. This recipe of hiring & firing is starting to show cracks, soon...
9/19
The turmoil will be too much, soon the wheels will fall off & when they do the chickens will come home to roost. I don't want that but its inevitable. There is toxicity running through this club & fan base which could have been eradicated given time but that's over now.
10/19
I have to be honest this sacking is a benchmark moment. Winning is great but it loses its shine a little each with manager that we sack, the connection with them is getting less & less as they don't care about the club & don't really make effort with the fans.
11/19
I recall Munich 2012. Why it meant so much. We had a former player as manager & it was written in the stars for players like AC, Cech, Drogba, Lamps to finally get glory after all the years of hurt. The pinnacle. That's why it meant so much. We don't have wins like that.
12/19
There are other tragedies here. Does anyone believe that our youth players will continue their rise under yet another new manager? History says a massive no. That saddens me. Roman spent millions on an academy that is almost pointless on the face of it.
13/19
Mercenaries have no time for youth they only want success & big names in their squad, history tells that story. Maybe we will never see Mount, James, CHO, Tammy, Gilmour, Anjorin, Ampadu, Guehi etc shine at this club. That is a tragedy..its again mercenary.
14/19
I have other points. We have a game fast approaching, with or without new manager in the hot seat, it is turmoil that will only unsettle the squad further. There is limited time for them to develop structure, we could easily lose the next 3 games down to an unsettled side
15/19
I will back Tuchel I chose this club all them years ago. Once I watched Chelsea when I was young I picked them good or bad times. I certainly disagree with many decisions the current hierarchy have made. But I won't be attached, not in the same way, there is no point.
16/19
People say 'Don't turn on the players' but if there are players who contributed to this especially those who aren't good enough then we should turn on them. Why would you want that in your club? You want rid of bad eggs. They are bad eggs.
17/19
There is a lot of conjecture & speculation about from the vulture media who knows what's true. We may never know. The Athletic may be well connected but I've lost a lot of respect for them, they aren't any different from the rest - they contributed to this sacking.
18/19
I'm going to end this here. I have a lot to say which I will undoubtedly over coming days & weeks. But this is just all fresh in my mind right now.
Thank you Frank Lampard you will always be a legend at this club, nothing less. đź’™
