This is something I highlighted in my chapter review but I also want to point out here is that with it looking like 6 members have been gravely injured/killed the hero commission members that sent Hawks may all be dead. Mera doesn't seem to be that deep but will likely run it.
Hawks was already in a position of being screwed before but this makes it so none of them can even have a change of heart and sympathize. All the people have is that cam footage. Hawks is entirely on his own.
Also, while2 I'm adding on to chapter analysis this behavior highlights what Shigaraki said at the mall perfectly. 2 days ago 7 prisons had massive amounts of convicts escape and you're out here hounding for family business. They don't take the world they live in seriously.
Bonus thing about Gran Torino. All this emphasis on how injured he is leads me to think he still isn't making it. My guess is he'll die talking to All Might as Deku wakes up talking to Bakugo. Passing the rites of guardian of AFO to Bakugo.
