This article says the exact opposite of Pinker's summary.

The evidence is overwhelming that conservatives are more conspiratorial than liberals and that Republicans are *far* more conspiratorial than Democrats. https://twitter.com/sapinker/status/1353415174053617664
During Obama's presidency, *two-thirds* of Republicans said they thought he was born in Kenya. Democratic conspiracy theories about 9/11, Ohio voting machines, etc, never even got halfway there.
The article itself engages in both-sides bullshittery. It's become conventional wisdom that GMO concerns are the left's answer to birtherism, but there's basically no difference between Democrats and Republicans on opinion polls.

Every single article about conspiracy theories does this. It cites example after example of straightforwardly false, ahistorical and anti-Semitic thinking on the right, then throws in some evidence-free hand-wave about "the left does this too" right at the end.
I haven't seen a single instance of a false conspiracy theory taking widespread purchase on the left.

The anti-vaxx stuff comes close, but it's always been more common on the right. The Russia stuff got out of hand but it's an exaggerated version of something true.
I've looked into this! The highest it ever got was 35% of Democrats saying they agreed with the statement, "George W. Bush knew about the 9/11 attacks in advance."

Which is:
a) lower than 2/3
b) closer to the truth than "Obama was born in Kenya" https://twitter.com/Yozarian22/status/1353771260438839296
This is exactly it. The left doesn't have an amplification pipeline for conspiracy nonsense. It bounces around fringe websites but doesn't end up legitimized by establishment figures. Completely the opposite on the right. https://twitter.com/AlanTwigz/status/1353772969726767105
