Since we all like to think of the offseason as more transactional than personal, I want to say a quick word about the Caskey family.
I got to know Kyle and Kayla as much as COVID would allow thanks to a charity event, and they couldn’t have been more pleasant to work with. It’s rare for a position coach to reach out to their local community after just one season, but it speaks to that family’s generosity.
While I can’t speak first hand of his coaching, the results in Detroit and Cincy speak for themselves. He certainly had the respect of players, and I know he still has a ton of fans in Cincy.
And, if you ever happen to run into him, ask Kyle about his cover of Vanilla Ice’s “Ice Ice, baby.”
