The air in Limerick City is pretty hazy tonight. I went outside and it smells smoky too.
I then looked at @EPAAirQuality and I see that the air quality monitoring station shows that Limerick is not fairing well against almost everywhere else in the country at the moment (only Sligo is worse)
Apologies, Ennis is also worse than Limerick right now. Here's Limerick's current numbers, as reported by that station.
I am able to see traffic on the bridges, and it is moving along. It is light. I suspect the reduced air quality is more to do with smoky fuels being burned in people's homes. Whichever, it's not good if you have respiratory illness.
A concern I have is that there's just one monitoring station, and it's in the People's Park. I can't help but feel it isn't giving us the full picture. We surely require a number of stations around the city in order to know just how bad it really is.
