This is the problem with keeping lame duck GM/coach. They have to promote from within at DC because outside guys won't come. Position coaches will only come here if they can't get a comparable job pretty much anywhere else.
And meanwhile you're left with a desperate GM and head coach who will sacrifice the future (they likely won't be here for) in a foolish pursuit of winning now (which isn't happening for this roster).
This is exactly why the Bears had to make a move sooner rather than later. They're only delaying the inevitable, but the effects will linger for years.
