Kids in my daughter's class are untethered with the schedule changes. Assignments will be available for completion this afternoon.
This is 3 hours after they were taught and kids are having a hard time - I get this, it's totally frustrating.

But...
This year, my daughter needed paper accommodations.
I go to school each Friday to pick up her assignments.
This whole year, my daughter's assignments have been one full week *behind* when they've been taught.
She has never had access on time to finishing assignments.

All of a sudden, as we hurdle toward hybrid learning, imagine my surprise that now all the General Education students will get paper packets "in advance" of content being taught in class.
How did school keep my daughter's educational access in mind this year?
How did school keep my daughter's educational access in mind this year?
Yet, school keeps telling me to be "flexible."
You know who has been flexible this year - all year long and has tried to access curriculum always a week behind her peers?
My 7 year old. It shouldn't be this way.

Now, school wants to change her teacher which will further complicate her access to education.
Access to routine and trusted adults is part of my daughter's access to curriculum. Now it will be ripped out from under her.

Special education violations were happening before. They will be worse as we rush forward with reopening.

. @cassiechicago this is part of what is making today hard for the class.
Other parts making today hard are no breaks, kids feeling whiplash with schedule change imposed and it not making sense. They have no schema for how to anchor their day with this sudden change.
