Does anyone else have a song lyric that they hate every time they hear it? “The best soy latte that you ever had” annoys the crap out of me every time I hear that damn song.
Also “your philosophies on art, Baroque moved you, you loved Mozart, and you'd speak of your loved ones as I clumsily strummed my guitar” makes me want to run into traffic.
In the same vein, and as I know I have complained before, every word of “Building a Mystery” is clearly shooting for “deep” but lands squarely on “insufferable,” with the added bonus of making precisely zero sense.
I have, of course, not been able to stop thinking about that accursed song since tweeting about it, and how we’re meant to find inexorably beguiling a person I would go out of my way to strenuously avoid.
(It’s amusing how often certain songs have been mentioned here, especially when it’s a song I personally like.)
When I first posed the question, I was thinking more along the lines of “annoying,” but some of you have reminded me of some of the truly hair-raising nightmares that made it onto the radio.
