for the cosplayers participating in 28 days of black cosplay a lil thread for the upcoming month of february:
don’t overwhelm yourself with trying to put out a new cosplay every single day. if you want to produce a new cosplay for each day then go for it, but don’t feel like it’s absolutely necessary.
don’t feel like you can only cosplay as characters that are popular or from a popular series. as long as YOU enjoy cosplaying the character, it doesn’t matter if the character or the series is popular/trending.
closest cosplays are valid cosplays. edited cosplays are valid cosplays. incorporate fashion and work with what you got. your cosplay isn’t lesser than because you chose to edit your skin purple via pics art instead of spending 3 hrs on body paint.
don’t feel discouraged due to lack of likes, retweets, and engagement on other platforms. not every cosplay will “do numbers”, every cosplay isn’t meant to go viral, and the amount of exposure you get in an hour doesn’t determine how good or bad the cosplay is.
don’t support big/popular cosplayers with the expectation that they will share you in return. they won’t. support people because you genuinely support them, because you love their content, not because you want a shout out.
remember that the internet is a shared space with many creatives with similar ideas. please take this into consideration before thinking somebody may be attempting to copy you. communication is important 
remember that at its core, cosplay is a hobby meant to be enjoyed. if you reach a point where 28 days of black cosplay is too much for you and feels like a chore, take a step back. there will be other days in the year and plenty of cosplays to finish. have fun and do your best
