With more of the 80+s having been vaccinated since the new year, and allowing for protection to kick in, I'm watching the proportion of hospital deaths closely.

The was a sudden spike in early Dec, reversed gradually in Jan, which I don't think is the vaccine (yet). 1/2
However, allowing for effectiveness to kick in, and then elapsed time between infection and death, we should start to see this falling more quickly in the next week or so.

Once 70+s are protected, the proport'ns will rebalance, so we can also look at absolute death numbers. 2/2
