These are some of the products that I’ve tried when I had long hair and also recommended by my other curly friends.
All products are below RM80 mark each.
Before I start, you need to know what type of hair pattern you have so it’s easier to know which product suits you best. For exp, if your hair is 2A- 2C with high porosity, some curly products are way too heavy for your waves.
Shampoo
My ethos for shampoo is that I need at least 3 types of shampoo in your shower. One is to treat my scalp for dandruff or psoriasis (if u don’t have it, skip it), one is to hydrate and another is for clarifying. This thread I’m gonna focus more on hydrate & clarifying.

TIP: SHAMPOO ONLY AT THE SCALP. The suds will wash your hair when you rinse it off. Shampoo is for the scalp, and conditioner is for the hair.
Right after you shampoo, you condition your hair and this is the best time to detangle your hair and distribute the conditioner. Brush from the bottom up. From ends to scalp to avoid hair tearing out.

Clarifying:
If your hair feels lackluster and feel like it’s stopped responding to all products that used to work so well, it might be time to use a clarifying shampoo. Products works best when we clarify all the build up. Use this shampoo occasionally when needed.

After the DIY mask, you need replenish the moisture back to your hair because clay mask can be drying af. Here’s my favourite deep intensive treatment hair mask from Yoko.
This can be used without the DIY mask or on your normal hair wash: https://shp.ee/hzhxzc3

Protein Treatment!!!!
Listen, protein is important as it helps to repair and strengthen back your hair. Like clarifying, you need to use protein treatment occasionally. Avoid overdoing it especially when not applying enough moisture in the form of regular, deep conditioning.

This is only hair wash hahaha. Ok ok after hair wash, you need to get rid of access water before applying your styling products and with that it is best to use an old cotton t-shirt or a microfiber towel: https://shp.ee/3ryd5z3
Before applying your styling products, you need to detangle your hair again so your products can be distributed evenly.

Curl cream for 3C - 4C.
Other curl patterns can use this curl activator but use it sparingly as this cream is very heavy. Ideal for hair that is super curly, Afro and coily.

If you like your curls to last longer and more defined, then go for mousse. Downside is that mousse can be very drying. If wanna use, use it occasionally.

Last step is to floof your curls out when hair is finally dry. Ideally to use a hair oil of your choice, when doing this so any oil will do but here’s my recommendation:
