Well pals, I reckon it's about time for my annual Burns for Millennials poem picker.

Whether you're a Burns aficionado, looking to get in touch with your Scottish roots or just wondering what all the Scots on your timeline are talking about, come on in, you're very welcome.
Do you like sad boys with jangly guitars? Burns was that, but for 18th century Ayrshire. Wrap your ears around this beauty.

Fare thee weel, my first and fairest
Fare thee weel, my best and dearest
Do you like basic dudes narrowly avoiding terrible fates? Then let me introduce you to one of the greatest ever pieces of storytelling, where a man so loses the run of himself at the sight of a short skirt, he calls the literal forces of hell on himself.

Tam also contains this gorgeous warning about fleeting pleasures, which is pretty big talk for a man who had 11 kids at 37.

But pleasures are like poppies spread,
You seize the flower, its bloom is shed;
Or like the snow falls in the river,
A moment white--then melts for ever
If you're wondering HOW a man manages to have 11 kids by 37, or if you like a good swoony romance, strap yourself in.

So fair thee weel, my only love
So fair thee weel a while
And I will come again, my love
Though 'twere ten thousand mile
If you're of the "eat the rich" persuasion (and who isn't, these days), may I suggest the eternally relevant A Man's A Man.

You see yon birkie ca'ed a lord
Wha struts and stares an' a' that
...
The man o' independent mind
He looks and laughs at a' that https://twitter.com/fionalongmuir/status/1353646793972703232?s=20
