This new "trend" of supposed leftist voices saying we should join forces with Trump supporters, Boogaloo boys, and their ilk - the very voices that are LOUDLY against AOC and progressive members of Congress - should be widely condemned.
This is not a matter of reaching across the aisle. This is not a matter of "oh, look, they see the working class struggle too."
If some of these people are in good faith suggesting this, then they are simply not paying attention.
It feels much more nefarious than that.

Efforts to divide the left are a tale as old as time. Keep a lookout.
Couple things: this is not so much abt Jimmy Dore except he sparked the convo for people. My belief is that he should’ve done more research & been very clear about who the Boogaloo boys actually are, the real harm they have caused in this country, & what their end goal is. cont’d
This is also not as much about “platforming” - I have interviewed many Trump supporters and Proud Boys. I have even blended in as such for my own safety to get interviews. It is an important part of documentation and reporting. Cont’d
The difference is in presenting Boogaloo boys and such as groups we should actively align with. In pretending that they are totally fine and wiping aside who they actually are - in fooling the audience and other leftists into not knowing or not believing the truth. Cont’d
To my knowledge, that is not what Jimmy is doing. There’s a growing group of leftists who are very much in the category of AOC is bad, anyone who disagrees w/ me on FTV is bad, and these Boogaloos and Trumpists support M4A so they are good and we should actively align. Dangerous.
I am NOT condemning all Trump supps. I am, in the small space we have on Twitter, referring to self-declared "Patriots," and those like them, from 1/6/21. Many specific groups fall in this category.
The big danger I fear is when Q*ue & others are completely walled off—never seeing reality.

(yes, obviously Q*ue and Boogaloo and all the other group names I don't have room for are different and varied in belief and action - I am in no way saying they are all the same thing. I am pointing out/responding to people who wonder what I think about dialogue)
