Why I think Frank Lampard was a successful manager. [A short thread]
Top 4 - Against all odds he managed to get Chelsea champions league football last season by getting into the top 4 whilst being forced to use multiple of Chelsea's academy graduates as players because of a transfer ban.
Fa cup run - In his 2nd season ever in management he somehow was able to reach an FA cup final. Again, against odds. Beating some of the most in form teams in the country at the time such as Liverpool, Leicester and Manchester United along the way.
Developed our youth - Since he has come in he has made chelsea's youngsters become recognised as some of the best in the country. Tammy Abraham being chelsea's top scorer last season. And the progression of players such as Reece James and Mason Mount.
Squad builder - Due to Frank Lampard's being a legend of the game, world class footballers were bound to want to join the club. As such, Frank managed to bring in world class names like Havertz, Werner, Ziyech and Thiago Silva all in one window. Leaving behind an elite squad.
The new manager Tuchel will be so pleased with the fact he has such an amazing squad to work with which was left behind by the work Frank has done. Therefore I believe that Frank has come in and done what he was asked for and done what was needed.
