Finished episode 3 of Mushoku Tensei, ofc I loved it. My favorite isekai and it is not even close. Very happy with the adaptation so far, prob the happiest I have been in regards to an adaptation. Alrighty, time to give my thoughts on the episode! (Thread ⬇️)
Well, rather than Slyphy, I want to start off with Paul. I felt this episode actually expanded more on him as a character and as a father than anything else. We see his struggles and that he is not a perfect guy. It's his first time being a father and he is still inexperienced
This is much different than other works. Paul imo, is a very realistic character because of this. He is flawed, just like many others in this work. The amount of depth put into each character in Mushoku really is astounding and that is another thing I love about it
I'd love people to notice is just the small things Bind includes in each and every scene. Like in this scene for example when Paul hits Rudy. U can see that look on his face, "What in the world have I done" as he stares at his hand in disbelief. They portrayed it perfectly!
Now on to Slyphy 🙂
Rather than her in particular it's the relationship between her & Rudy which takes center stage. The one thing I noticed was the head pat swap at the end calling back to the beginning of the episode, the small things ya know. Anyway, I love how innocent their relationship is....
.......... Well......... Guess that might not be the best word for it
Moving on to Mushoku overall. And really, this is the reason why it is my favorite isekai. It is the magic. Without a doubt, there is no better magic anime. In generic isekai, magic is just there, yeah they might have fun the first time they cast it or whatever, but then it is...
... just a the same as using ur fists. However, in Mushoku, u can feel the happiness and enjoyment from casting magic. I have never experienced a magic anime more immersive and alive than this
So basically, to sum it up, Mushoku is the best magic (and isekai) anime.
I like the small bits of Rudy's character being fleshed out. It's not too over the top nor small enough to not make an impact. The fact unnoticeable or forced just adds to the quality
Lastly, it is really good how aggressive Blind is being with this adaptation. With a MC like Rudy, if u censored it, I feel it would just ruin the experience. The manga nearly ruined it as well (still solid tho)
Well anyway to wrap to things up..... yeah call it biased whatever, I don't think I could ever give a Mushoku episode anything less than a 10/10 lol. So yeah, 10/10, thx for reading, hopefully u enjoyed the episode as much as I did!
