there’s been an uptick on far right message boards about working with antifa to destroy the system since j6, growing more since j20.

it’s a tempting thought so i can see why people on the left are entertaining it, but let’s take this to its logical conclusion:
1. the call on uniting from the far right is occurring in protest against biden. they are saying “fuck joe biden” because he’s not trump. anarchists say “fuck joe biden” because there are no good presidents.
2. the system that the far right wants to destroy is based on their *perceived persecution complex* while the system the left wants gone is the tangible violence of capitalist white supremacy. the two sides are working from a wildly different baseline and for different goals.
3. in theory, that both sides want to “destroy the system” is sufficient cause for joining together; the enemy of your enemy doesn’t need to be your friend to secure common goals. sounds good, right?
4. the issue lies in what each side want destroyed.

on the left, it’s the tools and function of capitalist white supremacy.
on the right, it’s all non-white people and anyone who tells them they need to not be shitheads to other people.
5. at every single point of unity for the abolishment of a tool of oppression, what it’s replaced are drastically different.

both want to abolish police. one side wants de-escalation & mental health experts. the other wants a citizen militia that can kill whoever with impunity.
6. the far right is not working from a standpoint of collective improvement. they are instead just desperately grasping at anything that will let them keep being victims and they think aligning with the left is the ticket.
7. let’s say antifa and proud boys unite. not only will that make my brain explode but the *second* anything is secured as a result of “unifying,” the far-right will turn on their leftist comrades in arms to secure control and establish their version of authoritarianism.
8. you have a shot at working together to get to the “everything has been burned to the ground” point of things, which is a tempting one to get to! but it’s a midpoint, not the end. anyone who thinks it’s the end is not operating from a functional understanding of the world.
9. tl;dr they want to kill you what the fuck are you thinking jesus christ
people get so deep into theory they forget to vibe check with some hella basic fables lol this one and the grasshopper & the ant https://twitter.com/blogwood/status/1353579044839817216
if you want to “unite with the far right” first thing you should do is not.

second thing you should do is find someone who’s in the far right and employ a fuckton of empathy and invest in a lot of exhausting conversations to help them understand. it will take months or years.
it’s fun to think about because man wouldn’t it be nice if this endless threeway fight got a little easier?! but the work of unifying lies in deradicalizing your racist uncle and your qanon gramma, not fist bumping threepers. not as fun.
also that so many on the right are currently super disillusioned and upset about biden is a perfect time to find commonalities in *empathy* and help move people you love away from believing things that are bad.
