S6, CAS rescues Sam from hell but accidentally forgets his soul, leading to Soulless Sam. then he betrays Sam and Dean re: the war in Heaven. Gets possessed by leviathans via Purgatory.
s7: Cas becomes god then promptly dies. dick Roman bullshit ensues. now I haven’t seen s7 in a while but doesn’t the way to kill the leviathans come from the tablets that they need Cas and Kevin for? then Cas and Dean get sent to purgatory
S8: dean spends most of s8A in heavy guilt and nightmares about Cas and purgatory. bc he was looking for Cas, he met Benny, who knew of a way out, leading to Benny saving Sam during the trials which come from the demon tablet which come from Metatron who is tricking Castiel
s9: Cas confirms he knows Ezekiel and so dean is tricked by Gadreel into possessing Sam. The main Big Bad is Metatron, who wants to make CAS the villain of his story. Cas fucks this up by refusing to kill Dean for the angel army. Thus, Metatron kills Dean himself.
S10: demon dean results. Cain SL. instead of focusing on Cain/Abel, the primary emphasis is put on Cain/Colette, his wife. Cain references that Castiel fills that role for Dean. Cain knows he’s too far gone when he hurts Colette. Dean knows when he hurts Cas. Agrees to die,
s10, cont: but can’t kill Sam. Mark is removed, Cas is used as Rowena’s distraction to escape, la la la, the darkness gets out.
S11: amara and dean have a weird connection, resulting in him being unable to hurt her. Discover Lucifer can hurt her. Cas says yes to Lucifer. Lucifer spies on S&D and tries to gain power. Lucifer gets Amara’s attention. Kidnaps him. Amara uses Cas to manipulate Dean.
s12: biiiig theme on Angel/human relationships. first love confession from Cas. lucifer gets kelly pregnant. Cas kills billie to save dean. They fight over what’s ethical. Cas is “manipulated” by unborn Jack. runs from Dean. Jack is born. Cas dies via Lucifer.
s13: dean is utterly despondent at the loss of Cas. tries to unalive himself. Cas gets re-alived. dean is very happy. Jack was not killed, they find Mary and Lucifer. this brings Michael. Jack and Sam taken by Lucifer. Cas and Dean have a big moment then Dean says yes to Michael.
s14: dean struggles with Michael. he comes home. Jack gets sick and dies, Cas saves him from the empty. Gets his soul back but loses it defeating Michael. Cas knows but before he can warn anyone, Jack kills Mary. Dean and Cas have a big fight and break up. Chuck tried to get dean
S14 cont.: to kill Jack. Cas tries to stop. Dean stops. Chuck is big mad. Starts to ends the world.
S15: Dean and Cas still fight even though the world is ending. Literally cannot work together so Cas leaves. Cas returns. Rowena yells at them. They go to purgatory. Dean loses Cas. Realizes he’s wrong. Kneels and apologizes in prayer.
s15 cont.: Cas accepts. They hug it out. BFFs again. Cas confronts what his purpose is. His family. Chuck says Cas is the only Cas to ever rebel against heaven. Dean hurts Billie. Billie comes after Dean. Cas reveals he rebelled bc he’s in love with Dean and Dean is SO special
S15 cont.: bc he’s the most loving person on earth. Cas dies. Dean learns that he is a being of love and begins to work through his shit and is able to defeat Chuck bc he takes what Cas said and stands up to the idea that he is a “killer.” he choses to believe in himself.
