There are several points in this thread, which if followed would be detrimental, maybe even catasrophic to tribal sovereignty and being a citizen of a Native nation. They actually argue for allotment https://twitter.com/supremerulerlia/status/1352706802392027136
It's because of the policy of allotment in the past why many of these problems exist today. Native nations should have control over their lands. By increasing jurisdiction and land ownership.
Not all land is owned by the feds in trust. We own our lands in restricted fee
Land back to Native nations not land allotted to individual citizens of those Nations. That land is likely to be exploited and sold off to non-Natives. It happened before. That was fed government's action
Many republicans advocate for dismantling reservations and allotting land to further their goals of exploitation.
Their are policy options to explore other than land allotment that supports tribal sovereignty and self-sufficiency such as seeding tribal mortgage programs and
Allowing Native nations to expand jurisdiction, supporting tribal taxation and disallowing state taxation on Indian country and all the goods and services thereon, supporting tribal infrastructure, cleaning up superfund sites and other pollution within Indian country, etc
Also Native nations can get rid of their BQ requirements at any time. That does not need federal intervention
The federal government tried to exterminate us through warfare, starvation, taking all of our resources and most of our land. Don't be on the side of people who wish to take the rest under the guise of individual progress
