This weekend on @CBCTheHouse a Conservative MP said the best approach for vaccine procurement is not by diversifying agreements but by signing "one contract."

...The Conservatives are now suggesting the best approach for vaccines is to put all their eggs in one basket. #cdnpoli
I get it. Their job is to oppose. But you don't need to oppose everything blindly.

The Liberal government acted quickly and prudently and signed 7 contracts LONG before anyone knew which vaccine would be approved.

The Conservatives are saying they would only sign ONE contract.
And we are now seeing why diversity in procurement is important. Pfizer is seeing a cut in production as they enhance their capacity. Thankfully, Canada has a diverse portfolio and continues to receive Moderna vaccines.

That is thinking about people, not politics.
But the other argument the Conservatives are blindly playing is when they say Canada is at the "back of the line" for vaccines.

Is this true? No. But it riles up the base and gets them donating. Sure that helps the Conservative Party, but it doesn't help Canadians.
Here is when countries are expecting to be fully vaccinated:
US: Fall
UK: Fall
EU: by the end of 2021

Canada? Every Canadian who wants a shot will be able to get one by September.

While Conservatives play politics, the Liberal government will continue to focus on Canadians.
