This is a weird interview. On one hand it reveals the chaos of early days of pandemic with Trump, but on the other, I’m like dude write a tell all book a few years from now when it’s all over. Why in the middle of this mess? When needing to have 300 mill trust & listen to you? https://twitter.com/nytimes/status/1353412259775717377
Well good luck with that now! News flash, your leading this pandemic response - it means this isn’t about Trump. It is about a public, a public that needs to trust you (and your record on that needs work despite good intentions) Why are you doing this?
It makes you look vindictive to half of the country that you are trying to get to listen to you and trust you. Good luck with that. People internalize that stuff, take it personal, this is why Im always of the belief that doctors, religious leaders, therapists, etc
Should always be nonpartisan and never get involved with political criticism. Why? Because it’s never about the politician. It’s why if you will see doctors completely avoid going there when asked, it’s why even one who worked with a politician when asked, will avoid answering.
Of you notice the press always tries to get these questions in, they want to get a dog. I’ve never seen a doctor that is on a national stage or involved with anything public or government do this. And please correct me if I’m wrong, but yeah I can’t think of a single one.
So now here are some digs about a guy who is not president anymore. It does nothing to him. No one reading this is surprised (oh gee he is hell to work with color me shocked) but many will look at anything you do now is for partisan reasons, no matter if it is or isn’t. Like fuck
Ugh sorry for the ramble guys but this is a very big thing for me. Public health is such an important arena and it must remain apolitical or it’s just useless.
