Mass applying for jobs have always worked for me. I get the appeal and the wisdom in asking job seekers to be targeted in how they apply got jobs, but sometimes we don't just have the luxury to be selective. Why trying to relocate, I had applied to more than 300 jobs in Canada...
... Australia, Asia and Europe and had over 80 interviews. I have also applied for over 400 remote jobs on http://angel.co , @RemoteOK, stack overflow, http://visaok.com , http://Linkedin.com , etc. I have had over 200 interviews and over 60 job offers.
Mass application works for some people while targeted advert work for others. Experiment and do what works for you.
Regarding applying for jobs, if you see an advert where you don't meet 100% of the required skills, apply. The jobs I applied to usually just mentions JavaScript (Vue, React, Node.js) or Ruby on Rails. I don't care if it mention other skills. If you meet 60% of a job requirement
...s, apply. Even if you meet 40%, apply. It might not be fair to those that will review the applications, but guess what, that's literally their job. You might just be lucky enough to get called for an interview. Every job you applies for, interview for and get rejected for...
...is an experience for the next round. I am not an expert at applying or interviewing, but I have gained enough experience not to be nervous about interviews. I know what works for me and what put me in the best light. Through trails and failures. Do you and be better everytime
