Sex Workers are constantly navigating a whorephobic online ecosystem.

This lawsuit is just a small part of what is currently going on, and what we are going to see this year w/ anti-porn/anti-SW attacks on Section 230, payment processors & pressure on social media. https://twitter.com/kendraserra/status/1353450794062929921
Fear and anxiety are a normal response to the constant threat of: erasure, loss of income and loss of community.

Sex workers are constantly navigating this threat and adapting where we can. It is brutal and exhausting.
It is very possible that this NCOSE/Twitter lawsuit will go nowhere and be used as a reason to further erode Section 230.

We can only speculate.
Shit comes at us so fast that it is often impossible to tell what impact is caused by what law/lawsuit/TOS change or platform response.
When I was studying the impact of FOSTA w @hackinghustling it was impossible to tell what was a result of FOSTA and what was a result of Backpage being seized, and just a larger overarching whorephobic hellscape.
So what do we do?
-We organize,

-we inform ourselves,

-we share information after vetting it,

-we share resources and money when we can,

-and we make the decisions that make the most sense for ourselves and our circumstances.
Everyone’s responses to the threat of online censorship and erasure will look different.

There is no right answer to trying to comply with impossible and ever changing rules and implementation. It’s exhausting.
This is a text I sent a friend. Idk if I’m right, we just do our best and try and support each other.
For me:
- I’m making sure my twitter header and avatar are in compliance.

-reminding people to follow my promotional account.

-pushing my mailing list to stay in touch with clients incase I lose another account.
-I am making sure to have twitter friends emails and #’s.

- I am forever backing shit up.

-I am doing research.

- I am supporting mutual aid efforts when I can.

- I am tired. So fucking tired.
Truly, just so fucking tired.

Love and solidarity to every tired and angry sex worker. We shouldn’t have to deal with this, or any, violence and erasure.
