My original contact was ez. They were interested so I sent them a design and we made a digital mockup with colors. That person left the company and the project was handed off. They then proceeded to order the shakers without any agreement/contract/payment anything set up. 2/
I was still young in my career and not sure how things were supposed to work with these deals. I liked the look of the shakers, was told I would receive some for promotional photos before launch. None of that happened. I was mid stream when I found out that my shakers 3/
had gone live for their black friday sale. No announcement. No message. I quickly made my own promo photo because it was still my shaker so I wanted to give it the attention I was promised. I also notice it didn't even have the right store link to it as we agreed upon. 4/
Mind you I still had no contract set up. Or even a way to be paid by them. Or even received the shakers myself. So I brought up my concerns with the PM contact I had and was directed to Eric. The owner. We talked and came to an agreement to try and "fix" things 5/
I decided to do some background work and asked around to every GS "partner" I knew. Turns out alot of folks had no way of getting paid they simply were kept happy with a few samples and occasional tubs. And most of them were also starting to question things. Needless to say 6/
the call went bad. He tried to gaslight me. Google search my brand in front of me which was humiliating and tell me i wouldn't be able to get copyright for my design. During the release of the shaker as well many orders werent getting shipped out 7/
I was getting constantly asked by folks where their shakers were because their support team wasnt answering folks. He then tries to say MY community did chargebacks to them as if it was in any way my fault they couldn't push out a product. 8/
I had enough. I told them to just sell the rest of the shakers and not reorder as we were done with both the shaker and my "partnership" So they sold. After they had been on the store sold out I hit Eric back up to be sure they were taken off the store 9/
FASTFORWARD 
A shaker image was sent to me. same words and extremely same font used in part. All with the lovely tag GS under it. I was livid. Not even half a year. I immediately sent Eric a message. "not a big deal" pulling from a brand from a former "partner" 10/

He since has just told me that they arent the same deisgn. Its not a big deal. He likes the design cause its funny. AND BOUGHT ONE OF MY 1V1 SWEATERS. He then proceeded to LIE. OUT RIGHT. to throw another employee out (who had already quit BEFORE the shakers were ordered) 11/
So. Stop supporting this predatory company. Stop letting these companies use YOU and YOUR reach YOUR brand for their own selfish gain. You don't need them. but THEY NEED YOU. False partnerships PLAGUE this industry. This interaction forever altered how I work with brands.
