Since when does having an OAM mean that you support the views of everyone else with an OAM?

Whatever happened to respecting difference in a multicultural and pluralistic society? https://twitter.com/TracyWesterman/status/1352944059321442304?s=20
There's a controversy in Australia right now because tennis legend Margaret Court--who won 24 grand slam titles--was given an Order of Australia Medal. She holds retrograde views on homosexuality, so the usual suspects are in hysterics.
I don't know the details but am fairly confident she was given her medal for her achievements in SPORT not her 'contributions' to public debate. I think we should be able to seperate the achievements of athletes from their personal views.
Am sure several other holders of OAMs also hold regressive views on social issues. But if they weren't awarded the medal for espousing these views -- does it really matter?
