In the early 80s I was sitting on a central London bus with my Aunty Bella and her best friend Hephzibah from Israel. A lady in Gulf dress got on with a small boy & sat opposite, chatting. After the row, the lady & son got off the bus. Hephzi, a refugee from Yemen, explained to us that the woman had seen Bella's Star of David & said to the boy in Arabic: "when you grow up, you will kill all of them". Pure hate, against Jews. Bella & Hephzi weren't talking Hebrew.
And yet, despite this hatred, it never occurred to me once growing up, to think racism against Gulf Arabs was *justifiable*, nor indeed Islamophobia against Muslim people generally, even if holding antisemitic views. It would be immoral & plainly wrong.

Every single 'progressive' person on the Left agrees that justifying racist, sexist, transphobic, homophobic, Islamophobic attacks due to some sort of 'provocation' or 'reason' is unacceptable, indeed 'victim blaming'. Until it's Jews and then rolls out *all* the excuses.
Bomb, shoot, stab, & defenestrate Jews, cue the exonerations and minimisations. In 1980, in response to a Paris synagogue bombing, French PM Raymond Barr talked about: “This odious bombing, wanting to strike Jews who were going to the synagogue, hit innocent French people”

No, when it comes to Jews, dead or alive, *anything* is fair game. "Because Israel". Even having the temerity to be Jewish in public, saw Ella Emhoff receive antisemitic abuse. From 'progressives'. Cheered on & defended by 'progressives'. As @ClaireRedacted says double standards.
Can you imagine the (rightful!) torrent of horror from the Left if the scenario - or any of these scenarios - was flipped around? There is not a single justification for 'explaining' antisemitic attacks on Jews 'because Israel'. Except yet more antisemitism.
