Min YoonGi left home when he was in high school to train hard for three years, working secretly to pay his school fees, and staying up late at night to work on music. He had to accept and master the changes that were required to make him an idol - dancing, makeup and etc +
He faced ridicule and hate for his decision to leave the underground and perform on the stage as an idol. Ppl attacked what he did and how he did it because he broke from the traditional hip-hop path. He worked excruciatingly long hours, continuing to write music whenever he had+
a free moment, giving up sleep in order to compose. He performed on stage, did interviews and went on reality shows where he was at times flat out disrespected. He didn't just write songs, he wrote songs that revealed his true feelings and personal struggles with mental illness.+
He's done all of this for years, with very little time off. I could keep going on, but my point is that he did all of this and much more while struggling with social anxiety and depression (and a shoulder injury). The level of his drive, dedication and determination astounds me.
He deserves limitless praise and respect for what he has accomplished in the last ten years. I can't wait to see what he gives us in the next ten, twenty, thirty years.
