why nosferatu is one of the best command grabs in ultimate and why you should stop sleeping on it, a thread:
nosferatu is a command grab that heals and scales based on how much % robin accumulated, meaning the higher his % the more he will heal. if he lands it from behind his opponent, he heals even more. this also applies to the amount of % it deals so from a one nos robin- [1/11]
-could go from 125% all the way down to around 90% and his opponent could go from 40% up to around 55% which could literally take robin out of kill % and put his opponent in % (depending on the mu). "but its slow as hell who would get hit by such a slow command grab lol"- [2/11]
its true that nos is one of the slower command grabs that doesn't have a gimmick like flame choke or monkey flip but consider the following:
robin has 4 whole moves that true combo into nos (arcfire, arcthunder, elwind cancel and technically dair (lol)) and secondly- [3/11]
-robin himself just literally conditions you to hold shield whenever he's in the air because no one wants to take 1000% from getting hit by one aerial lol so putting a command grab on a character like robin is actually more threatening than you'd think.
sometimes nos can- [4/11]
just act as a conversion starter because (for most characters) the frame advantage the opponent has over robin after getting hit by nos is only 2 frames which forces them to pick a defensive option most of the time, if robin reads it correctly, they could just die from- [5/11]
choosing the wrong option lol
"but flunnt nos can only be used 3 times and then you have to wait 30 seconds for it to come back!"
correct, if you don't use it carelessly then you dont have to worry about it only having 3 uses. examples of situations where robin can land a- [6/11]
nos:
-as a landing mixup
-out of landing the many moves listed earlier
-at ledge vs characters that like to sit in shield to ledge trap (chroy for example) because he actually regrabs ledge
-when the opponent is on a platform because they will shield lol

nos ALSO has a- [7/11]
shockingly large grabbox which WILL drag people in if they happen to extend their hurtbox trying to hit robin out of it (which is impossible because robin has invulnerability frames when the grabbox of nos is active) resulting in stupid shit like this:

and if you're still worried about it running out and having to wait 30 seconds, KOing an opponent takes some time off of how long robin has to wait to get any item he runs out of back which is not not something robin struggles with at all. you also literally get a free- [10/11]
discard from running out of nos which, in the hands of a good robin, are very good items to have at your disposal.
