From what I’ve seen this season so far from the kids at Hale End, Carrington and Cobham is that there’s a lot of talented kids in these English academies. They’re not the solution but spending big should only happen if you know it’s a marked improvement on what you have
I’ve always thought it’s better to have the academy kids filling out your squad rather than wasting big wages on squad players. If the academy talents are good enough they eventually become first teammers, if not you sell for profit and bring through the next batch
Best way to build/pad out the squad and make money IMO. Only spend big on what you deem to be guaranteed successes
Also you need to give them the right environment to be successful. So it’s a fine balance to be had
