Soooo quite a few of us live in cities that have hard water, and I want to talk about how that impacts our hair
I’m not gonna get into the whole thing about hard water, but basically there’s lots of magnesium lots of calcium, and other minerals from the limestone rock beds that add excess minerals and things into the water which make it hard.. blah blah blah
The reason that we may be affected by the varying levels of hardness in our water: it dries your hair AND skin out, it coats your hair, it actually fades your haircolor faster, & if you have very hard water it literally stops products from being able to do their job
I’ve seen clients who experienced hair loss, lots of breakage, their hair can become more easily tangled and harder to manage, literally the list goes on and on
There are a few things you can do to combat your hard water situation. My first suggestion would be a water filter on your showerhead, that is the simplest solution to this problem
Another solution: is products specifically geared toward removing the hard water deposits from your hair, my favorite is from this company called Malibu, and they make a hard water shampoo and a hair treatment (pls use my link) https://malibuc.com/shop/Jessicakiyomi
Also all my hairstylist friends should look into an eco heads nozzle for their shampoo bowl! I looove it so much, the water pressure is amazing, and it removes a lot of minerals, rust, and sediment from the water making it nicer for the clients hair
google if where you live has hard water &if you’re experiencing extra frizzy or extra dry hair, breakage, color fading hella fast, hair tangles hella fast, hella spiltends, if you’re using quality shampoo/conditioner and your hair is still dry, you may need to adjust some things
