THREAD - MY FAVOURITE HIP HOP INSTRUMENTALS/BEATS OF ALL TIME

All my opinion, RT to help a smaller account & I hope you enjoy! This was very hard to chose because there are so many amazing beats.
20: Ice cream - Raekwon (RZA)
A song with some of the greatest MC’s of all time on needed a hard beat, and that’s exactly what it got. It’s the best beat on OB4CL for me and another classic east coast sound.
19: Ambitionz az a ridah - Tupac (Daz)
A powerful beat that I can never be still to, a classic in Hip hop and perfect for pac’s great delivery.
18: Pound cake - Drake (boi-1da, Jordan evans)
I love everything about this beat. Although my favourite thing is the Ellie Goulding & wu tang sample (is sure everyone feels the same) the second part is always fire.
17: Doo wop (that thing) - lauryn Hill
Miseducation cemented Lauryn Hill as one of the greatest Hip hop & R&B artists of all time. This song is a standout on an album with already amazing production, suited perfectly for Lauryn’s voice & energy.
16: Xxplosive - Dre - producer dre & melman
A true west coast classic, one of the most recognisable beats ever. Another beat that perfectly captures the vibe of the song.
15: m.A.A.d city - Kendrick (sounwave & terrace Martin)
Both beats are 🔥 The first half of the song has a the ability to rile anyone up in seconds due to the momentum of that insane beat, however the second half still maintains intensity whilst sounding beautifully old school.
14: Halftime - Nas (large professor)
Another classic hip hop beat, halftime is a renowned beat amongst the rap community. Nas really had a great production team for illmatic.
13: The way I am - Eminem (Eminem)
This beat is incredible, it sets the tone perfectly for Eminem’s anger in the song. A real dark theme throughout, especially with the use of the intense piano keys.
12: It was a good day - Ice cube (producer DJ pooh)
The production of this song complements Cubes storytelling so fucking well. West coast hip hop really did have some amazing beats. This should obvious.
11: In da club - 50 (Dre, DJ quick, Elizondo)
One of the most infectious beats of all time. In da club was a groundbreaking song in Hip hop. Probably the most instantly recognisable beat of the 00s.
10: What’s the difference - dre (Dre & mel man)
2001 was an album full of some of the best instrumentals of all time, imo what’s the difference is one of them. This beat is so satisfying and distinctive.
9: Story of OJ - jayz - Producer - NO ID, JAYZ
The best beat on 4:44, it’s sonically amazing & suited perfectly for Jay’s message.
8: Runaway - Kanye (Kanye, Mike dean, jeff bhasker)
What can be said that hasn’t already? Runaway is a masterpiece. From the first key you know the song. It’s not overrated imo, it’s exposing greatness in simplicity.
7: Lucifer - JayZ - produced by Kanye
Lucifer has an amazing & impressionable instrumental, Kanye has always been a great sampler.
6: Still Dre - Dre (Dre & Mel man)
The most iconic hip hop beat of all time, truly a timeless classic. I can’t find a single fault with this beat because there isn’t one.
5: Shook ones PT2 - mobb Deep (mob deep)
Another incredibly important beat. The dark gritty sound of this consistent beat is a perfect fit for the concept of the song. A true east coast beat in a golden era of rap.
4: All caps - Madvillain (Doom & madlib)
Again, from an album full of pinnacle production All caps is a standout for me. Such a perfect beat for Doom’s flows. This beat never gets old for me.
3: Award tour - A Tribe Called Quest (Tribe)
A tribe called quest have some of the finest production in Hip Hop. Award tour has such a catchy, smooth beat throughout, listen to midnight marauders if you’re a fan a perfect production.
2: Through the wire - Kanye
My favourite Kanye beat. This is a standout amongst Kanye’s incredible production catalogue. Even just the vocals at the start are enough for me to fall in love with the beat.
1: Ny State Of Mind - Nas (DJ premier)
Every true hip hop fan knows the beauty of this beat. Made by one of the best HH producers of all time. Everything about this beat is perfect. and the piano chords might be the most satisfying sample ever. My favourite beat ever.
