been thinking about how critiquing liberal white women has been coded as an aesthetic criticism against femininity itself. they see themselves as the guardians of a specific kind of non-academic feminism that favors personalized critiques based on whatever they like/don't like
therefore, if I critique some of them I am suddenly not a feminist. I'm suddenly not a woman either. i'm something else. I become a patriarchal pawn who can't see how my socialist application of feminism plays into the hands of leftist men (who are coded as oppressors)
this behavior ignores the fact that Black feminism has always been cultivated towards leftist interests. but that doesn't really matter to white liberal women. they don't respect audre lorde. they don't respect angela davis. they don't respect the combahee river collective. etc.
white people in general tend to take tools for structural critique created by Black women and make them buzzwords. white liberals & conservatives mis-apply the meaning. white leftists often reject the terms altogether, despite already having a framework to apply them.
