A thread on Trust, because:

• It is very very complex to realise.

• Likely, it is easier to recognise lack of trust than truly having trust.

• It might take decades to build it, but a fraction of second to screw.

1/n
4 components of Trust:

1) Reliability (of Actions)

2) Credibility (of Words)

3) Intimacy (Privacy)

4) Self Orientation (Inclination of Motive)

2/n
Reliability:

Will a sweatshirt or a quilted jacket be more reliable for harsh winters?

We would likely 'trust' the quilted jacket.

Reliability accounts for the ability to act. Whether or not certain task can be performed or certain outcome can be achieved by the entity.

3/n
Credibility:

Do you find the politician's words credible? The words always seem to contradict themselves over time. Can we be certain about someone's words?

Credibility of words and communication.

4/n
Intimacy:

Promise, you won't tell anyone! Best friends keep the secret. It's an ask to keep the information to oneself; confidential.
The connect between two people which differ from what presented in the public.

5/n
Self Orientation:

Where does the orientation of the motivation of the outcome lie towards? The more selfish a person is more likely to optimise about oneself and less likely to trust.

Missionaries are customer centric! They build high trust platforms with their customers

6/n
Trust is directly proportional to Reliability (R) of Actions, Credibility (C) of Words, Intimacy (I).

Higher R, C & I --> Higher Trust.
Trust is inversely proportional to Self Orientation (S).

Lower S --> Higher Trust.
The biggest of all factors is Self Orientation.
