I've been talking to colleagues from other cities within Ohio as well as outside of Ohio. I've done some research regarding their schools, their plans for opening or not opening and I've come to several conclusions.

...thread
1. I'm very grateful to be working at a school that is open and advocates on behalf of Ps and Ss. This is what schools are supposed to do, fight for the Ss they serve. I think we should wake up and appreciate how lucky we are to have an Administration that cares about both Ts/Ss.
I think those of us employed there should start to appreciate just how good we have it with our Administration and our safe/positive working environment. I'm also blessed to work in a community that supports is staff and students. It truly does take a village to raise a child.
2. I'm grateful to have met these new colleagues that I'm quickly forming a bond with. They are such strong and courageous professionals to speak out about reopening schools, advocating for children, and defending the right to equitable learning. These are my people.
3. Ts need to start doing the jobs they were paid to do, and that is to provide an education to these children. I'm all for reopening all schools, while also making sure those vulnerable teachers have options to keep them safe. Both things can be done at once.
