Cancel culture needs to stop. It doesn’t mean those who try to cancel someone get to do it without consequences. We need to be calculating in addressing this issue. A

Conservatives have taken the main brunt of cancel culture. They have powerful people against them. They weren’t the first victims. #HasJustineSaccoLandedYet kicked off the cancel culture mob.
Justine Sacco made a comment before boarding a 12 hour flight about aids in Africa. Joked she wasn’t worried about it because she’s white. Anyone with a brain would get its commentary on how European culture ignores big issues in Africa.
People stalked her at the airport. It went international. She had less than 100 followers when her tweet went viral.
Since then, they’ve gone after regular citizens. CNN is a multibillion dollar international corporate information gathering company. When Trump retweeted the below, CNN went after the gif maker. They intimidated them. They used serious resources to track the person down.
Cancel culture has since evolved. Now, people are getting cancelled because something happened in public. Then terrible people like Rex Chapman get a hold of it and makes it viral. Where comments end up going “twitter, do your thing.” Which has led to suicides.
Having a bad day and something pushes you over the line at publix? Well, enjoy the clipped video that makes you look like a psychopath go mega viral. And watch your life get destroyed because they track you down and mob your work into firing you.
We all need a plan of attack.
1) No matter how vile of a thing someone says, you don’t snitch. It has to be a legit death threat before taking action

4) This one hurts me. But we don’t get to cancel blue checks. Even terrible people like Chapman and Tapper. And the same for Wolfe. She needs to lose her job because the journalism industry is terrible and needs new talent. Not bc she’s a hack.
