An issue with insecurity and anxiety is often an issue with principles.

If you find yourself struggling with ever decision, or becoming paralyzed trying to figure out which options won’t make people mad at you, do this instead:
Make a list of 3-5 principles you want to embody. That you’d be embarrassed if people said you don’t have.
Courage
Compassion
Honesty
Integrity

When a decision arises, don’t ask what will make people not hate you. Ask which principle applies. And how to show that principle.
You can even ask for a few seconds to think about it. No person of quality is going to be angry if you explain “I am trying to figure out the most honest response, please give me a few seconds to think.”

And if they’re angry at your choice, they’re really angry at your principle
This is a great litmus test for quality people vs toxic. Quality people may not like your answer based on principles but they’ll respect it. They’ll trust you more, even if your principles was against their interests this time. Toxic people will screech and demand you surrender.
But at the end of the day, this is the only way to respect yourself and kill insecurity.

Live to your principles and change your life forever.
