why mike wheeler is overhated. a very much needed thread:
first of all, he shouldn’t be hated at all, he is so loyal, he is kind, he is willing to do anything for those he cares about, and he cares about these people so much, yet people in this fandom hate him so much for no reason
“he lied to el”. he got forced to lie to el by some man who talked about killing him. this man literally threatened a 14 year old in a car, of course he would lie, he was forced to. send tweet.
“he doesn’t care about his friends because he ditched them all”. he jumped off a cliff for dustin in season 1. i will reiterate, he jumped of a CLIFF to save dustins teeth. but yeah, mike doesn’t care about his friends at all

yeah, mike can get a little overprotective, but that isn’t a reason to hate him at all
mike has had no father figure really, especially not in his adolescence. his mother cared, but has no idea what he has gone though, he doesn’t have his family there for him, except nancy
