He also literally not once ever complained about the fact that for some reason I never grasped the concept of him having office hours and happily and patiently sat and talked about my dissertation whenever I turned up at his door (which was often).
It's exactly this kind of academic rigour, and this kind of supportive teacher, mentor and friend, that is directly under threat from Leicester right now.
