Ok, Let's break down exactly how News Corp ( @jacko) disingenuously provoke outrage over a non-existent issue to further propagate the culture wars.

First off, let's look at the click bait headline, shocking right! The ABC is now calling it Invasion Day instead of Australia Day?
Well... no. They used it a story in which they outlined events occurring on the 26th January.

You know what a lot of people do on the 26th? They go to Invasion Day Rallies! Using that free speech Morrison loves so much. So it's pretty dam hard not to use the term Invasion Day.
So why write a story? Well the story is pretending to be journalism and not an opinion piece, so instead of voicing their own outrage they turn to the "scores" (so around 20) Twitter users to justify the story
So here is a sample of the vociferous social media outrage! Who are these men?
Literally just a couple of random guys that replied to the tweet carrying the story...
So now there is a "massive" social media backlash they have to report on, time to bring in the expert commentary from **checks notes** One Nation's Mark Latham.

A "politician" and some time drunk tweeter that sits in a State Parliament that has nothing to do with the ABC.
But of course, let's add some depth to this response from another impartial expert... how about the IPA!
Yes the Right Wing "think tank" funded by Murdoch himself that campaigns to have the ABC (Murdoch's direct competitor) privatised. Let's ask them what they think about the ABC for some impartial commentary.
Of course if you get far enough down the article you get the clarification from the ABC that Australia Day is still the preferred term but... I mean... it's too late! I'm already outraged!!
Remember, this wasn't an issue. News Corp want those on the Right outraged by something that didn't happen and then those on the left reactively defending an extreme policy that doesn't exist.

This is how they directly assist in the polarisation of our politics.
Just an update, looks like this is a concerted campaign by News Corp. Today's DT...
