Prepping myself into work mode for my busy week ahead and I remember a conversation I had with an individual who was running sport holiday programmes and one of his key reasons was to get children off devices. Which I hear more and more of.

It got me thinking... a thread
Reflecting back on my childhood (yes it’s it like 10-25 years ago) but my parents always got us the likes of PlayStation, Sky TV, computer games etc. We didn’t have screen time limits. But my brother and I would always be out playing cricket or some sport in our back yard.
Admittedly, the yard was big enough to house a 200m2 house. But as that house was being built we migrated to the front yard. Whilst our parents didn’t get us into any sport or physical activity we took every opportunity to play in the yard. Which makes me wonder, are children
These days brought up to value/engage in physical activity/play/sport? Because if children intrinsically want to do it, and have the means to do it (I know yards are getting smaller) then you shouldn’t have to monitor screen time etc.
Secondly, I’ve heard people generalise all kids are on devices and thus contributing to the trend of children being decreasingly physically active. But back in the day Sport/play/physical activity didn’t interest some kids, we are not accounting for this with our device narrative
Whilst I haven’t presented anything interesting, just the musings of my brain
