My beautiful friend Emma was first diagnosed with cancer when we were 14. Despite invasive treatment she managed to get her English degree from one of the UK’s top unis, and build a successful career in journalism.
A few years ago she wrote a series for @thisismoney on cancer and personal finances, to help others navigate common money issues after their diagnoses. A lot has been written about the emotional and health impacts of cancer, but relatively little about the huge financial impact.
