Much of the negativity surrounding it stems from the way this highly complex and difficult decision appeared suddenly on New Years Eve. Was poorly communicated to health professionals, never mind the general public. But it's time to move on.
Given the fact that pretty much everything that could go wrong HAS gone wrong in the UK Covid epidemic, it's completely understandable that people will want to scrutinise and challenge every decision made.
