What strikes me most about this thread is the degree of projection in it
To start with:
Self entitled, white, privileged politician with a persecution complex vilifies abuses indigenous sportsman who is calling for promotion of inclusion and end of racism https://twitter.com/SenatorRennick/status/1352772081331494912

Next up he is frustrated that throwing money at the issue isn't appreciated. Like an abuser who brings a box of chocolates and thinks all is forgiven. Very little insight into the systemic root issues not being addressed. https://twitter.com/SenatorRennick/status/1352772414665449472?s=20
Now- all about him - his wounded ego feels "vilified" for being made to see there is an Australian history other than the whitewashed colonial one
He feels ashamed and guilty but will continue to deny history because it doesn't sit with his world view https://twitter.com/SenatorRennick/status/1352772546991509504?s=20

Now again projecting his view, and attempting to speak for others. Creating an imaginary group think, as if others are on his side - ego soothing again. With no evidence to back him up. https://twitter.com/SenatorRennick/status/1352772799358595072?s=20
It's overall a very sad thread. Mostly because it comes from someone who has been elected to represent his community. But it appears he has little understanding, or willingness to understand a very deeply felt hurt from one section of the community.
