Thread on KBFC vs FCG

Not a great performance from Kerala Blasters, but happy to salvage a crucial point at this stage. We showed a great spirit in the second half. Hats off to Goa for their performance yesterday. Now KBFC are unbeaten in their last 4 games.
FCG held on with their 4-2-3-1 formation with Ortiz as the lone striker. Meanwhile KBFC sticked with their 4-4-1-1 formation with Rahul as their striker. With this formation Kibu's mindset was to understand the Goan plannings and to break them in the 2nd half.
1st half really was a nightmare for KBFC. FCG wreaked havoc in all Blasters half. Though our defenders blocked their opportunities, FCG could have scored their first through Ortiz who was given a through ball but luck deserved KBFC as it hit the crossbar.
The Goal from FCG was through a counter from Ortiz which Jeakson stopped through a foul. The freekick taken was like a rainbow. The ball would have moved over the bar, if the ball hadn't made contact with Sahal's head. Albino couldn't time his jump and it had flown into the net.
With that stuff, KBFC were cautious about Goan attacks. Missed passes ruined KBFC in the 1st half. Though we got solid opportunities in the first half, the lack of finishing proved to be the difference between them and us.
The Goal from Bakary Koné was called a handball by linesman. Facundo took the corner and It flown over everyone's head, except Koné's. He headed the ball right but it hit his hand and entered the goal. The linesman called a handball at right time and it was a good decision.
After the end of first half, KBFC focused on more attacks and it made FCG in backfoot at the rest of the game. Since Donachie was injured, FCG were more cautious on their defence which showed the decreasing sharpness of FCG attack. It was a boon for KBFC as well.
Rahul scored the lone goal for KBFC. Facundo took the corner and it was all above the players head, but Rahul jumped 1.98 m from the ground to take the ball home. It was a nice corner and an outstanding jump which ensured KBFC fight back in 2nd half.
An unnecessary foul from Ivan Gonzalez was shown a yellow card by the referee. But Ivan went on arguing with the referee which resulted in 2nd yellow and he was shown a red card. That was a huge blow for FCG as they were pressing for a win. After that FCG only played for a draw.
Ever since that incident happened, it was now turn for KBFC to wreak havoc in Goan box. Since their 2 experienced CB's were absent, FCG felt the pressure as KBFC ran through the Goan defence. We got some solid opportunities including Sahal, Hooper etc. but we couldn't convert it.
Sandeep Singh was adjudged the HOTM. And he really deserved it. He ran through FCG half and when it came to defence, he was like a rock. It's the right time for KBFC to extend his contract as @krishg1990 said. We should also extend contracts of Facundo, Murray, Costa etc. as well
Some are criticising KBFC for their poor finishes and their gameplay. I want to just say that "THEY ARE HUMANS, NOT ROBOTS". They could only get 3 days for their preparation for the next match. They didn't even get rest except nights. So please understand their conditions as well
But I have to say, we have to improve our finishing. We can do it. Nothing is impossible. Next game, we won't get the services of Kibu, Jeakson and Rahul as they have to serve suspension. It will be interesting to see how KBF perform against JFC.
