The Curious Case of Whis Gi: DBFZ Edition

The Whis Gi is one of my favorite topics when it comes to lost FZ content, so with this thread I hope to explain a few things surrounding them, and what may have happened internally.
(i also find unused stuff pretty neat so lets go)
So short answer: yes, they existed at one point.
In fact, based on the files there was quite a bit done on them before they were cut.
Many know about the Whis Gi icon on Goku and Vegeta's decal texture, but there's a lot more to them that's still left.
In FZ, SSB Goku and Vegeta share recolors with their SSJ counterpart (much to my dismay).
There is a reason for this though; albeit it's kind of a dumb reason.
Literally only their heads use their own SSB textures. Everything else is just the SSJ Body.
"Well, what do the SSB textures look like if it's just the head that's used?"
You would think it'd just be the head stuff and the rest null space, but you'd be wrong.

Here's Blueku's base texture, with the head UV's visible. Notice any familiar colors?
Here's Bluegeta's as well.
They also have complete ILM textures (which apply various shading effects like shine along with black lines), suggesting that AT ONE POINT, they had complete models for them, that just never found their way into the main game.
(Base textures with lines is for example)
Another thing to point out is that Goku has skirt bones.
This is also on SSJ, but that's because all adult Goku's (not counting UI) use the same skeleton internally.
You can *probably* guess what they were used for.
Unfortunately their actual models are lost to time. Every recolor for the SSB textures are identical as well.
Which leads us to one question: why were they cut?
We unfortunately have no way of telling, the most we can make is theories.
One idea I had was that they didn't want SSJ and SSB having different gi's in story mode, but that seemed like a really odd reason to cut an entire costume.
man i just want my blue boys to not have the same colors as the yellow boys, why are you like this arcsys lmao
I guess that concludes this thread.
I love unused stuff in FZ, so I'm glad what I do can help other's learn of my super specific interests lmao
I might make more threads like this in the future, this is fun.
