THREAD 3 -GLOBAL POWER CENTRES

The transnational corporations (THREAD 1 https://twitter.com/aleph2020/status/1353000826609020929?s=20) & investors (THREAD 2 https://twitter.com/aleph2020/status/1353066612635521027?s=20) that are now pushing a #plantbased food system are forces that operate symbiotically within the bulwark of neoliberal capitalism.

The latter is constituted of such (overlapping) power centers as @TrilateralNA, @GroupofThirty, @CFR_org & @wef. These think tanks represent the strategic-planning & consensus-forming centers of the #plutocracy (aka, the 'transnational capitalist class').

We should not be surprised, or dismiss it as 'conspiracy', when the obvious appears to us: those players that are having the intention to modulate world markets are also keen on shaping the food system.

The interconnection of corporate executives & globalist bureaucrats facilitates the creation of policy frameworks favourable to a #GreatFoodTransformation, without which supply-&-demand mechanisms would be insufficient.

To do so, strategic leverage over global discourse is readily available via a few consolidated mass media giants, tightly connected to the power centres that matter.

Take @CFR_org: representing transnational industry & banking, & counting governmental & geopolitical top officials among its members, it's core mission is to strategically map out new directions for its members in a rapidly changing context of capitalist globalization.

Although CFR does not have a direct focus on the food chain, it is indirectly involved with the #GreatFoodTransformation through its closest allies (e.g., @BlackRock [see https://twitter.com/aleph2020/status/1353066612635521027?s=20], @WorldResources & @RockefellerFdn (more later), & the World Economic Forum @wef.

The @WEF, in turn, is a transnational organization of corporate, political, intellectual, & civil society leaders, with a 'Foundation Membership' limited to 1,000 of the foremost global corporations. The @wef is very closely affiliated with @CFR_org (many of its corporate Strategic Partners are also corporate members of the CFR, many CFR members have had an important role within the WEF).
