Few subjective observations on the reaction of Ukrainians to protests in Russia. People follow them with interest, but without a show of solidarity there was and still is for Belarus. This protest is for @navalny, against Putin, but is it for democracy? Many are not convinced
Ukrainians remember very well Navalny's words that 'Crimea is not a sandwich' and it won't be returned to Ukraine in the near future. Yes, that was time ago, but he never apologized for these words nor clearly condemned Russian aggression against Ukraine https://ukraineworld.org/articles/opinions/what-does-aleksey-navalny-really-think-about-ukraine-crimea-and-donbas
In Ukraine, many look at him with suspicion and don't believe he's a liberal, as portrayed in the West. Some fear his policy might be a continuation of Putin's imperialism and 'gathering of lost lands'. And Ukraine clearly doesn't want to be back to Russia's orbit
15,000 dead in the war Russia started in Ukraine is a pretty good reason for Ukrainians to stay away from all things Russian and show little solidarity with protests there. Especially if these protests are about a man, not necessarily about values
There was still a small show of support to Navalny in Kyiv: his portrait projected on Russian embassy wall, followed by an image calling Russia to free Ukrainian political prisoners. Navalny can only count on support of Ukrainians if he commits to stop Russian aggression
