I’m hearing a lot about hospital administrators trying to silence physicians who are speaking up and telling the truth about Ontario’s covid response. I’ve heard this from multiple colleagues at multiple hospitals.

“Health advocate” is a CanMeds role. As a physician, speaking up and advocating for the health of the population is part of your job.

If you’re an MD being threatened or intimidated by a healthcare institution for telling the truth, we have a problem. If they’re telling you you need to be quiet because the province will reduce the hospital’s funding, we (in Ontario) have a very big problem indeed.
